Conservation

Metrowater is committed to providing its customers with clean, safe drinking water. Water conservation is increasingly important however as Auckland City and the Auckland region continue to grow and develop.

Water conservation involves reducing the demand for water by encouraging good water conservation habits, stopping wasteful use, decreasing peak consumption, and charging for water based on the volume used.

Conservation does not mean doing without water. It means reducing the amount of water we waste and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of water use.
