If you think your latest Metrowater bill looks a bit different, you’re right! We’ve redesigned the bill to make it even easier for you to understand and manage your water usage.
Check out what’s new:
· A bar graph that shows how much water you’ve used over the past year, so you can compare your recent usage with the same period last year. If your usage has gone up significantly for no obvious reason, you may have a dripping tap or leaking toilet.
(Figure 1)
· A table that compares your usage with households of a similar size. If you have a swimming pool or a garden that you water regularly, your usage will probably be above average.
(Figure 2)
· Water is now measured in kL or kilolitres. 1 kL is 1,000 litres, and is the same as 1 m3 of water. Research shows that it’s easier for people to visualise a litre of water than 1 m3.
· The front of your bill provides an easy-to-read summary of what you’ve paid previously and what you owe now.
(Figure 3)
· Full details about your current charges are now at the back of the bill.
